Owning Your Data: How we strive to ensure security for you and your visitors

Jana Franck 5 June, 2024 - 3 min. read

In light of recent news about potential event ticketing data breaches, it's more important than ever to highlight how Eventix prioritises the security of your and your visitors’ data. When selling tickets with Eventix, you own your data. The next step is to learn how we and you can work to protect that data. In this blog, you can read our steps to ensure your information is as protected as possible.

Disclaimer: Given enough time and resources, almost any system can be hacked. The more complex a system is, the more likely an exploitable error can be found. We always strive to identify and prevent such exploits, but this process is constantly ongoing.

No account creation required (Single Sign-On)

When purchasing a ticket with Eventix, there's no need to create an account. This means we don't store any passwords on our servers, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorised access to your personal information. The prevalent issue of using the same password for multiple websites is one of the main reasons why data is vulnerable to a breach.

Secure payment information handling

We don't store any bank account or credit card information on our servers. Instead, our Payment Service Provider securely handles and stores this sensitive data on highly protected servers. This means your financial details are protected by industry-leading security measures. You can read more about the information our Payment Service Provider stores here.

Secured cloud storage

All our data is stored on secured cloud servers. These servers are fortified with advanced security protocols to protect against unauthorised access and potential breaches, so you can rest assured your data remains safe at all times.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

We implement two-factor authentication (2FA) on our organisers’ accounts. This additional layer of protection ensures that even if a password is compromised, unauthorised access is still prevented by requiring a second form of verification. More on 2FA.

Active bot protection

Our ticket shops are equipped with active bot protection measures for peak sales. These safeguards prevent automated systems from fraudulently purchasing tickets or accessing personal information, ensuring ticket sales remain fair and secure.

Safe resale with TicketSwap and Tixel

Every Eventix ticket can be resold safely through TicketSwap or Tixel. The SecureSwap feature immediately invalidates each ticket once it is resold and then replaces it with a completely new ticket with a unique barcode. This process guarantees that ticket resale is secure and only valid tickets are in circulation. More on safe resale.

Data protection in the workplace

At Eventix, we follow data protection workspace procedures. We implement role-based access control, two-factor authentication, encryption, and secure cloud storage. Physical security measures, secure device configurations, and a comprehensive incident response plan protect our office environment against data breaches.

While hackers and data breaches are always potential dangers, Eventix is committed to working hard to prevent such incidents. At Eventix, your security is a top priority. We continuously monitor our security measures to protect your data, providing you with peace of mind every time you create an event and your visitors purchase a ticket.
