Background

From humble beginnings in a secluded Beyoğlu bar in 2015, where laughter echoed from an audience of ten friends, TuzBiber’s comedy venture has flourished into a beloved fixture in the heart of Istanbul. Initially grappling with venue challenges and misconceptions about comedy as a profession, they finally found their home at Aylak Bar Kadıköy. This marked the beginning of a comedic revolution, growing from sporadic weekly shows to daily performances that managed to captivate audiences.

Challenges and Solutions

Online ticketing

TuzBiber was initially founded in a market with no dedicated comedy clubs and faced significant challenges with ticketing logistics. In the beginning, they used 3-4 different ticketing platforms that used printed tickets, which require physical transport and handling. They also had no insight into their audience and no way to use modern marketing techniques.
Solution
Integrated barcode scanning

Eventix introduced a streamlined modern ticket system that drastically simplified TuzBiber’s ticket management. Ticket buyers now receive their tickets by email, and staff at the event can easily handle check-ins on their phones with the Eventix Scan app. This eliminated the need for paper tickets and significantly improved the efficiency of their operations, which was particularly crucial as their event count grew to over 130 shows a month. Access to their customer data also allowed them to continue to build and target their audience.

Seated events

TuzBiber needed a way to sell tickets for events with seating plans, particularly for larger venues with capacities of 2,000 to 3,000 people and smaller venues that seated around 150 to 200 people. Previously, they were unable to manage these sales themselves.

Customisable seating plan integration

Eventix provided TuzBiber with the tools to implement seating plans within their ticketing system. This feature allowed them to sell their own tickets for both large and small venues, which was a crucial improvement for their operations. Being in control of ticket sales for seated events meant TuzBiber could maintain consistency and efficiency across all their shows, regardless of the venue size.

Multiple events a day and week

TuzBiber’s rapid growth demanded a ticketing solution that could keep pace with their expanding schedule of events, which now exceeds 130 shows a month. They needed a system that was both easy to use and adaptable to their increasing demands.

Eventix provided a comprehensive platform that allowed TuzBiber to manage all aspects of their events seamlessly. Allowing TuzBiber to quickly copy and paste events and event settings ensured that the team could efficiently handle their growing workload. Having a centralised overview of event performance and being able to compare events is invaluable to a growing event organiser.

International expansion

As TuzBiber sought to expand their reach internationally, they needed a ticketing solution that would allow them to manage events across different countries without relying on local venues to handle ticket sales.

Simplified ticket sales and venue coordination

Eventix enabled TuzBiber to take control of their ticketing process even when organising shows abroad. Eventix made it easy for TuzBiber to coordinate directly with venues, simply renting the space while handling all ticketing themselves. This autonomy made it far easier for TuzBiber to enter new markets, as venues were happy to host their shows without the added responsibility of managing ticket sales. TuzBiber now has an event calendar in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Austria!
